It takes a village

Care Day is a global celebration (and the world’s largest celebration) of the successes and achievements of children and young people with experience of care. It takes place on Friday 18 February this year and it will be the 7th annual Care Day!

We want a world where children and young people who have overcome adversities are proud of themselves, their achievements and look forward to a future of opportunity, equality and equity.

Care Day is a moment for children, young people and adults to unite in celebrating the rights and resilience of care experienced children and young people, their stories and their achievements.

For #CareDay22, the celebration is getting even bigger as this year’s theme is: It takes a village to raise a child”

5 Nations, 1 Voice event

Join Care Experienced people from across Scotland, Ireland, England, Wales & Northern Ireland, in exploring the theme of community at our joint event, Conversations with the Care Community.

Who’s in your village?

We want to hear about the people who are important in your village. The ones who have made your care journey a little easier. This might be an auntie or foster carer, or your social worker or teacher. Or anyone who has been a positive influence in your life.

Be a #CareAware ally!

This year we want you to be(come) a #CareAware Ally. For #CareDay22, children and young people with care experience are asking you to stand with them. There are a few different ways you can do this to show your support on the day.
